Tax Defense Pros is free to read. It is funded in two ways, and both are described here in full.

Sponsored placements

Positions one and two in our rankings are sponsored. The firms occupying them pay us for that placement, and their position reflects that commercial relationship rather than our editorial assessment alone.

This is disclosed in the advertiser-disclosure bar at the top of every ranking page, and the trust bar above the listings reports how many sponsored placements the page contains.

Everything from position three down is ordered on criteria we can independently verify — published pricing, guarantee terms and the credential mix on staff.

What sponsorship does not buy

• A score. Scores are computed from a published five-criterion rubric and cannot be edited by hand.
• A "best for" label. Those describe what a firm is actually good at.
• Removal of drawbacks. Every listing shows a drawback, sponsored or not, including where a sponsored firm publishes less than its competitors do.
• Editorial control over its review. Sponsors do not see reviews before publication.

Referral fees

Some companies pay us a referral fee when you request a consultation through our links. Outbound links to providers carry rel="sponsored" and pass through a redirect that records which page and position the click came from.

We record the debt band selected in the qualifier, the page, the position and the device. We do not sell your personal information, and the click record does not include your name, email or phone number.

What we do with lead information

If you complete the qualifier and submit your contact details, we may pass them to a tax resolution firm so they can contact you, and we may contact you ourselves. The consent language shown at the point of submission is the binding description of what you agreed to, and we store the exact wording alongside your submission.

You can read every ranking, review and guide on this site without submitting anything.

Corrections

If something on this site is wrong — about a firm, a programme or a number — tell us and we will correct it. Facts about providers are re-verified quarterly, and each provider page shows when its details were last checked.
